The focus of Our Lady of the Lakes' Sick and Homebound Ministry is to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners who are unable to attend Mass due to illness, injury, or advanced age. Our Home Ministers bring the current church bulletin with them, so that our homebound parishioners can stay connected to the activities and events at church and around the diocese. Periodic phone calls are also made, just to say "hello" and let our precious brothers and sisters know that they are in our thoughts and prayers.
Please call the parish office when anyone is ill or injured, whether at home or in the hospital, and cannot attend Mass. Holy Communion will be brought to the home or hospital if requested.
Fr. Jim is available to anoint anyone with a serious illness, or who has upcoming surgery or tests. Since priests are not visiting hospitals on a routine basis to visit the sick, only in emergencies or near death, Fr. Jim suggests you plan ahead and see him after any of the Masses for a special anointing.
For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, a stranger and you welcomed Me, naked and you clothed Me, ill and you cared for Me, in prison and you visited Me. (Matthew 25: 35-36)
